Cougars for a Cure
Friday night Lights
During this Friday’s Home Football game (7:00 pm) against Somerville High School, we will be hosting an evening that aims to make a difference in the lives of many children who need it the most! We will be joining the fight against Childhood Cancer by supporting Wade's Army, a local non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding for neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of childhood cancer. Wade’s Army was started to continue the fight of Wade DeBruin, the younger brother of MHS 11th-grade student Ella DeBruin.
The event on September 13th will be an inspiring and impactful experience for all involved. Along with our student leaders in the Cougar Connect Club, we have organized a themed evening where everyone is encouraged to Support Wade’s Army and wear GOLD, the color of childhood cancer awareness. We will be selling gold rally towels and Wade’s Army gear for spectators to purchase and show their support.
To show the support of our Cougar Football team, we are asking all of our Monty Cougar Fans to dress in GOLD for the game. All proceeds from ribbon and apparel sales will go directly to Wade's Army to support their ongoing efforts in research, direct patient support, and hospital initiatives. Wade’s Army is currently funding the pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Room at Robert Wood Johnson/Rutgers University Cancer Institute in New Brunswick, which benefits all children who have cancer and rare diseases.
Thank you for your continued support of our students; we look forward to seeing you this Friday and all year long as we support our student-athletes!
Go Cougars!
